As we can all tell our senior years didn’t go as planned. We didn’t have our last proms, award services, bachelorette, spring sports season, last day of school, and a postponed graduation. These are all special events we looked forward to for years but didn’t get. I think the biggest pill for me to swallow is after 14 years of playing softball I played my last game and didn’t even know it. I can say for myself I don’t think it has hit me yet that everything is over. But we can all sit here and think of how much we lost, but I was so blessed to have 4 great years of high school! I was blessed with amazing teachers, coaches, leader, and classmates at Staunton River. I had the pleasure to be a 4 year start and 3 year captain for our volleyball program at Staunton River. I was also able the be a three year starter and captain my last year on the softball team. Both of these teams have had a huge impact on my life! They have made me who I am today and taught me so many lessons throughout the years. I was also honored to be apart of our National Honors Society program at Staunton River. I was also blessed with the wonderful opportunity to have joined Central Virginia Community College my junior year and will be graduating with my associates degree as well! The professors and staff at CVCC have been incredible and helped us start our way to our dream jobs. At CVCC we grew a bond between 3 schools that will never break, and will never be forgotten.
I have made so many sweet memories and great friendships over the years. I can only thank God for the wonderful years of high school that I was given and all of the wonderful memories and friendships. I couldn’t have made it through without the support of my family, friends, community, and the staff at Staunton River. If there is anything I learned from high school it would be never take anything for granted and live out your life to the fullest all the time!
In the fall I will be attending Eastern Mennonite to play volleyball and major in nursing. I also later on hope to further my nursing degree and become an oncology nurse! I can’t wait to meet so many new people and to be a part of EMU’s team! Thank you all for all your support during this unexpected time!!
